Kia Ora, I'm Alice – the new Broker Support for Joshua Rhind here at Caveo, the fire & general insurance arm of Velocity Financial. I take care of the domestic side of Joshua's workload. I'm so excited to be working amongst an incredible bunch of people. My time at Caveo so far has been full of learning and laughter, and I can't wait to see what the future in this new career has in store for me!

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

I would say I am people-oriented, honest, and compassionate.

What's one professional or personal accomplishment you're particularly proud of?

My personal accomplishment that I'm most proud of would have to be raising my daughter. I've sat on this question for so long, trying not to be that mum, but it's hard not to be proud. Ruby is such a kind, caring, and intelligent girl. She will always be what I am most proud of.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you're passionate about?

Outside of work, I enjoy playing indoor netball, watching sports of any kind, and I LOVE live music! I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my friends and family, going on little adventures, being at the beach, and in the sunshine.

If you could have a conversation with anyone, living or historical, who would it be and why?

Based on what I've heard from podcasts, I would love to have a conversation with Joey Diaz. I don't know if I'd gain much knowledge, but man I'd be in for a wild ride and a huge laugh.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

Bravery is not the absence of fear - it is feeling fear and moving forward anyway.

What's something on your bucket list that you hope to achieve in the next few years?

To buy a home!! Lucky for me, I know a group of really amazing advisors!

‍If you had to switch careers tomorrow, what would you choose and why?

I would love to be a criminal profiler or a criminal psychologist. I have always been so interested in how the mind works and what makes people commit such horrific crimes.

How other people choose to live their life does not affect the way that you live yours.

What's your favourite thing about the team and workplace culture here?

Every single person in this office is so full of knowledge, as well as being kind and welcoming. I have learned so much already being in this workplace for the past 6 weeks. I am genuinely excited to learn from everyone and expand my knowledge, listen to everyone's opinions and life stories, and to be a part of an incredibly inspiring group of people.
